The Moscow festival “Retro-style” is a traditional Moscow festival which is held annually since the year 2002 with the support of the Moscow government.
In 2005 the festival “Retro-Style” will appear before spectators in a new image. It will take place on September 4 in the Moscow City Golf Club as a part of celebrations of City’s birthday. The Retro-festival promises to become a spectacular event in sporting and cultural life of the capital which will remain in the memory for a long time. There will be not only exhibition of old cars on the program, but everything that embodies retro style – art exhibition, display of gramophones, telephones of that time, retro-fashion show. But the basic and permanent part of the Retro-festival will be exhibition of old cars boggling imagination with their beauty and elegance. Besides a retro-golf tournament will be organized in the context of the festival in the Moscow City Golf Club.
Traditional race of retro cars in the historical center of Moscow will be headed by the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Michailovich Luzhkov.
Audience of the Moscow festival consists of well-to-do people with stable income and high social status who can appreciate the beauty of any kind. Members of the Moscow City Golf Club, Moscow Sport Club and Le Meridien Moscow Country Club will take part in the festival. Art and cultural workers, famous actors and sportsmen, politicians and businessmen will also be among the invitees.
Information about the festival “Retro-Style” 2004
Traditional motor race in the historical center of Moscow took place on the first day of the festival. It was headed by Yuri Luzhkov driving "З�С-110 кабрио". A certain piquancy was imparted to the situation by the fact that the car produced in 1950 used to be a personal car of Nikita Chruschev. On the second day cars participating in the festival took places in an area where they could be surveyed by numerous guests of the festival. On finishing the exhibition cars-winners were rewarded. Taking part in rewarding were representatives of Moscow Government, fashion house "Valentin Yudashkin" and stars of Russian variety: Lubov Uspenskaya, ensemble "Neposedy", "Samotsvety", Natasha Koroleva, Vladimir Vinokur and others.
For the first time there was a competition for the most elegant car and carriage, as wall as a mini-rally along the Moscow streets
